Spent the day at Global Fintech Fest 2026, India’s biggest fintech event, looking specifically at what Amazon Pay is doing in small business credit. They just launched a card with Kotak Mahindra Bank, built for over 94 million enterprises and small business owners, aimed at giving more of them proper access to formal credit, along with better convenience and security. What stood out was their AI decision engine, which assesses transactions in real time, powering faster fraud detection and credit approvals. They also demoed biometric authentication, Tap & Pay through UPI, all built to make payments faster and simpler. The bigger takeaway wasn’t the tech itself. It’s that small business owners are finally getting access to the same financial tools that were always available to bigger players.
